Assignment 1

Material Experience in Architecture - Group ( 30% )

In our group of seven, we are tasked with conducting a comprehensive case study of an intriguing building located in Kuala Lumpur or Selangor. Our objective is to identify and analyze five architectural building materials and two structural building materials used in the selected building. We must then select one building material that has a significant experiential impact on users and provide a detailed illustration of its installation process.

Our project will be presented on a single A1 size board, which should be organized to include:

1. The historical background of the chosen building (location, establishment, architect)
2. Clear images and detailed information about the five architectural building materials and two structural building materials, including their properties, locations, applications, and reasons for selection
3. An analysis of one building material, focusing on its experiential impact and a sketch of the installation process
4. Relevant images of the chosen building, including floor layouts, elevations, and three-dimensional perspectives
5. A conclusion on how the building materials are applied in the selected building
6. References
