A Journey Through History and Theory...

Engaging in the Architecture History and Theory module during my first semester in the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture has been a transformative experience. The lectures, assessments, and tutorial exercises provided a well-rounded approach to understanding the evolution of architecture. The projects and tutorial exercises challenged me to apply theoretical concepts in practical scenarios, fostering a deeper connection with the subject matter.

Reflecting on the learning platform, the combination of face-to-face sessions, MyTIMeS, Facebook, and Telegram created a dynamic and flexible environment. This diverse approach enhanced accessibility and facilitated meaningful discussions. Mr. Azim, my tutor, and Dr. Lia, the Module Coordinator, played instrumental roles. Mr. Azim's passion and insightful guidance enriched tutorials, while Dr. Lia's organizational skills provided a structured and coherent learning experience.

Over the span of 14 weeks, I made significant progress and attained several Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC).

First, I have obtained TGC 3.0: Thinking and Problem Solving skills. The ability to think critically and creatively, which became evident in analyzing architectural elements within historical contexts. The knowledge gained in the importance of thorough research and information synthesis to enhance architectural understanding and inform design decisions has allowed me to acquired lifelong learning (TGC 2.0). Essential information retrieval and synthesis skills, emphasized by the module's focus on thorough research and data utilization; and effective communication in various settings and modes, refined through engaging in tutorials, projects, and online platforms (TGC 4.0). These insights have broadened my perspective and will undoubtedly shape my future endeavors in the field of architecture.
