Reflection
Exploring Environmental Design...
Reflecting on the Architecture and Environment module undertaken in my semester 1.5 of the Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Architecture, I find the experience to be enriching and comprehensive. The lectures provided a strong theoretical foundation, while the project and quiz allowed me to apply these theories practically.

The learning platform encompassed both traditional face-to-face interactions and modern digital channels like MyTIMeS and Microsoft Teams. MyTIMeS served as a official resource hub, while platforms like Microsoft Teams facilitated dynamic discussions and quick exchanges of ideas among peers. This blended approach catered to various learning styles and ensured a well-rounded educational experience. Dr. Jan, my tutor and Module Coordinator, played a crucial role in facilitating our learning. His expertise and guidance provided invaluable insights into environmental design, fostering an environment conducive to open discussion and collaborative learning.

Over the span of 7 weeks, I made significant progress and attained several Taylor's Graduate Capabilities (TGC).

Firstly, the module This module emphasized integrating environmental considerations into architectural practice (TGC 1.0 : Discipline Specific Knowledge), highlighting our responsibilities towards sustainability and ethical design. It broadened my perspective on architecture's role in addressing global environmental challenges. Secondly, the module encouraged analyzing environmental factors critically (TGC 3.0) and exploring creative solutions to design challenges. This skill is crucial for addressing complex architectural problems while ensuring sustainable outcomes, deepening my understanding of the interconnectedness of design decisions and their environmental impact. Lastly, I have obtained TGC 8.0: Digital Literacy through both assignments. Proficiency in ICT tools is essential for modern architectural practice. This module introduced various software and digital resources for environmental analysis and 3d design, enhancing both technical skills and understanding of digital tools' potential in architecture. These aspects not only deepened my understanding of environmental design but also equipped me with practical skills and insights crucial for my future.
